Frequently Asked Questions
How do I learn more about the franchise opportunity?
First, you may contact us by calling (506) 382-7529 ext 222 or emailing info@mytots.ca. You may also complete the Franchise Inquiry Form and we will contact you following our receipt of the form. Following your initial inquiry, we will send you our Franchise Information Packet, which provides additional information about the franchise. Our goal is to provide you with the information you need to make an informed decision. We recognize that purchasing a franchise is a life-changing decision so we do everything we can to make the process as stress-free as possible!
Do I have to have a sports background to be a Franchisee?
No. While an interest in soccer or hockey or basketball or a background of working with children is helpful, it is certainly not required! We're looking for qualified and energetic business professionals who want to own a fun and rewarding child development business.
I've never looked at franchises before. What should I know about the process?
Franchising has proven to be an extremely successful method of expansion. In essence, franchising permits individuals to benefit from a company's success and avoid time and expense associated with learning about a business from the "ground up."
You will find that all compliant franchise companies follow similar paths in introducing prospective franchisees to their franchise. For example, you must receive the franchisor's Franchise Disclosure Document, (FDD), at least fourteen days prior to signing the Agreement or paying any money to the franchise company. The disclosure documents include the Disclosure, Franchise Agreement and additional Exhibits (such as the company's financial statements and the Operation Manual Table of Contents). The Disclosure Document provides information about the franchise company and various contractual provisions contained in the franchise agreement. You will learn a great deal about the company and the franchise business through your careful review of the documents.
What qualifications are required to become a MyTots Franchisee?
We are looking for individuals who have good business acumen, a strong work-ethic and the willingness to follow our program. MyTots has been successful due to our operating methods and our focus on providing superior training and class curriculum. We are confident in our ability to train individuals to successfully duplicate our system.
What type of training will I receive?
Initial franchise training consists of 20 hours and is conducted at our office in Moncton, New-Brunswick. You will be trained in all aspects of running a MyTots Franchise. At the Franchisees option, we will add two days of training at the Franchisee's site.
What type of support do you provide?
Our success is measured by the success of our franchisees. MyTots is committed to providing quality support services that positively impact your Franchise. You can read more about our support services in the Training and Support section.
How long does it take to begin operating a franchise?
We estimate that the typical length of time between signing the Franchise Agreement and opening a Franchise is 45 to 60 days. This includes the time necessary for you to complete our initial Franchisee Training Program and hire and train staff if necessary.
What is the potential income for a MyTots Franchisee?
Like many Franchisors, we do not make specific earnings claims. Instead, we provide information to you that will permit you and your financial advisor to prepare a pro forma based on factors specific to your territory. In addition, you will have the opportunity to review our financial statements provided in the Disclosure Document, and talk with our existing Franchisees about their performance.
Do you assist with the process of hiring instructors?
We provide Franchisees with comprehensive information to assist them in recruiting, hiring, and managing their instructors. We have been very successful in this area and are qualified to assist our Franchisees to do the same. We find that many sports enthusiasts love working with a company that can provide a system to handle all of the administrative work so they can focus on coaching young children.
What is the initial investment required to begin operating a franchise?
The total investment necessary to begin operation of a MyTots Franchise is $14,000 to $25,000 depending on the size of your territory that you will operate.
How do I obtain a copy of the Disclosure Document?
Following your review of our franchise information and your conversations with us, you will determine if MyTots is the type of business you are anticipating. Once we agree that MyTots appears to be a great fit for you, we will send a Preliminary Consideration Form. We will ask that you complete and return the form so that we will learn a little bit more about you. If upon receipt and review of the Preliminary Consideration Form we determine that you are suitable candidate we will send a Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) Request Form. Upon receipt of the completed Franchise Document Disclosure Request Form we will send the FDD. Please contact us for additional information
Where can I run classes?
MyTots classes are held in any kind of sport space you can imagine. Currently classes are held in indoor soccer facilities, gymnasiums, aerobics rooms, church recreation halls, skating rinks, athletic clubs, recreation centers, churches, private sports facilities and they all welcome the business SoccerTots, HockeyTots, and HoopsterTots brings to their facilities.
What is the usual business arrangement with the sports facility?
Usually Franchisees negotiate a percentage of revenue to the facility. Franchisees have negotiated all kinds of deals that range from free to an hourly usage rate. Some Franchisees have agreements where the facility provides the students and the MyTots Franchisee simply sends an instructor to conduct the class.
Can we conduct classes at daycare, preschools or primary schools?
Yes, MyTots operators are conducting classes at all of the above with much success.
